Sacred Heart Hospital on the Gulf Welcomes Dr. Teresa Summers



PORT ST. JOE, Fla. – Teresa Summers, MD has joined team of hospitalist physicians at Sacred Heart Hospital on the Gulf in Port St. Joe, FL.

Dr. Summers graduated with her master’s degree in psychology from the University of Louisiana in Monroe, LA. She received her medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in Shreveport, LA. Dr. Summers completed her residency training in family medicine through St Vincent’s Medical Center in Jacksonville, FL.

Dr. Summers is a member of the Florida Academy of Family Physicians, the American Medical Association, and the Family Medicine Interest Group Senior Officer at LSU Health.

Dr. Summers comes to Sacred Heart on the Gulf with qualifications in family medicine, obstetrics, pediatrics, geriatrics and women’s and men’s health. She has managed a variety of pathologies from infections to cardiac and pulmonary conditions. 

Dr. Summers has special medical interest in advocating for victims of domestic violence, both adults and children. She has done research with Southwestern Psychological Association in New Orleans, LA and has published research in the Journal of Psychology 2006.
